At Bunts Charitable Trust, our mission is to serve the community by addressing key social issues and promoting sustainable development. Over the years, we have initiated various projects and programs focusing on education, healthcare, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability, among others. I am pleased to inform you that our team has been working tirelessly to ensure the continuity of our initiatives & through innovative approaches and strategic partnerships, we have been able to adapt to the changing circumstances and continue our efforts to uplift the underprivileged sections of Bunt Community. 1. Inaugural function of ASHA PRAKASH SHETTY BUNTS CONVENTION HALL - 3rd November 2018
Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade inaugurated the newly constructed Asha Prakash Shetty Bunts Convention Hall on 3rd November 2018 in the presence of other dignitaries. Tourism Minister S.R. Mahesh, former Minister B. Ramanath Rai, former MLA Vasu, Federation of Worlds Bunts Association President Aikala Harish Shetty, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) President Sudhakar S. Shetty, Mysuru Bunts Association President T. Prabhakar Shetty and others were present.
Chairman of MRG Groups K. Prakash Shetty and Chairman of MCI Groups of Institutions T. Prabhakar Shetty were honoured for their financial contributions.
The other donors and patrons were also felicitated on the occasion such as Chairman of RNS Groups of Institutions Dr. R.N. Shetty, Chairman of NMC, Abu Dhabi Padma Shri Dr. B.R. 2. Bunts Sangha Demands Category 2a Reservation-4th March 2023
The Bunts community, which has a large presence in Coastal Karnataka, has demanded inclusion of the community under 2a reservation category. Addressing a press meet on 4th March 2023, Mysore Bunts Sangha President T. Prabhakar Shetty said that the community is classified under Category 3b. Maintaining that though Bunts community appear to be financially sound at the outset, the fact is that about 60 percent of the community come under BPL, he noted.
Urging the Government to establish a Bunts Development Corporation just like the ones for other communities, Prabhakar Shetty said that though BJP State President Nalin Kumar Kateel and State Backward Classes Commission Chairman Jayaprakash Hegde belonged to the Bunts community, the much wanted Corporation is yet to be formed.
Contending that the community will be deprived of opportunities across sectors in the absence of appropriate reservation, Shetty wanted the Government to form Bunts Development Corporation at the earliest and also to bring the community, which is backward in several aspects, under 2a reservation category.
Bunts Sangha Secretary M. Nandyappa Shetty, who also spoke, said that all District Units of the Sangha will stage a demonstration demanding 2a reservation category and establishment of Bunts Development Corporation.

3. Unanimously eleceted Office bearers of Bunts Sangha & Charitable trust during AGM held on 29th March 2026
Mr. K. Ganesh Narayan Hegde was elected as President of the Mysuru Bunts Sangha, Mr. M. Nandyappa Shetty and Mr. Ranjith Hegde were elected as Vice Presidents, CA. Surendra Hegde was elected as Honorary Secretary, while Mrs. Alakarani Shetty and Mrs. Soumya V. Shetty were elected as Treasurer and Joint Treasurer, respectively. Mrs. Prameela Shetty and Dr. Vedanth Shetty assumed charge as Joint Secretaries.
For the Bunts Charitable Trust, Mr. P. Suresh Alva was elected as Managing Trustee, while Dr. Jagannath Shetty and Mr. Sanjay K. Shetty were elected as Deputy Managing Trustees. CA. Surendra Hegde will also serve as Treasurer and Honorary Secretary of the Trust, with Mr. P. Harish Alva and Dr. Prakash Shetty as Joint Secretaries.
A 12-members Executive Committee was also constituted. On the occasion, members congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and ex-pressed confidence that they would provide dynamic leadership and contribute significantly to the growth of the Association. The new team assured that they would work with commitment towards the progress and development of the organization.
At the Annual General Meeting held on 29th March 2026 of the Bunts Sangha and Bunts Charitable Trust, Mysuru, the new office-bearers of the sangha were elected unanimously and unopposed.
